Taiwan. The ship docks at Port Keelung which is about 45 minutes from Taipei. You can either get a taxi or take a tour. The first night we went to the popular night market. It’s not that great for tourist shopping but still interesting to see how the locals shop. A good dose of culture. The next day we went into Taipei. The 2nd tallest building in the world is Taipei 101. Oh yes, and it’s tall. There’s a large shopping district just next to it, but the hightlight for us was the changing of the guards at Martyr’s Shrine. We’ve seen changing of the guards in Norway, Sweeden, England, Athens and other European countries, but this is the best. Their timing is amazing. Allow about two hours here, as there are gardens and a couple of nice temple’s.

To make the most of your cruise, read my book Cruise Ship Secrets. It will help you with beating sea sickness, cruising with kids, saving money, what to expect onboard, what to pack, and a lot more.
