Have you ever come home from Vacation wishing you had done things differently?

For newcomers, cruising can be an overwhelming experienced filled with many first time mistakes and unknowns that can ultimately effect your overall experience.  Here’s a couple of tips to take with you.

Be early or late, but never on time - This is especially important for large cruise ships of 2000 guests or more.  Whether it’s breakfast, watching a show, or coming back to the ship in ports of call.  Avoid the lines by being early or late, while everyone else is on time.

Sea days - On sea days, get to your deck chair early; before 11am is fine.  On sunny days, deck chairs can fill up fast.  Some ships have secluded deck chair areas at the back of the ship, and often people go their whole cruise without knowing they’re there.  If you’re after some peace and quiet, try looking for these hidden gems that are out of the way and away from the main pool area.  Some ships also have cabanas and other secluded areas as part of the spa area.  Ask a crew member for directions.

Sea Sickness – If you or your family are worried about sea sickness, there are many ways to prevent it from ruining your cruise.  Book your room towards the back of the ship and you will feel less movement.  You also feel less movement in the inside rooms, so if you don’t mind going without a window or balcony, this might be a good option for you.  Once onboard, there’s many things you can do, not only to treat sea sickness, but to prevent it from happening in the first place.  Discover more in Chapter of Cruise Ship Secrets.
